Anthony Davis Leaves Game With Broken Hand, Return TBD

New Orleans Pelicans Forward Anthony Davis has suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left hand and has left the game against the Knicks. Davis suffered the injury at the end of the first quarter and was in the locker room the majority of the second quarter having it examined. Prior to the injury Davis played 10 minutes, scoring seven points and grabbing four boards.

When Davis returned to the bench his hard was wrapped with an ACE bandage. He did not appear to be in obvious pain, but it was announced shortly afterward that the injury was in fact a fracture.

It’s unknown how long Davis will be out, but needless to say it’s too long. I expect it will be at least a couple weeks. After halftime he donned a cast.

I hate injuries, but this one is especially disappointing since Davis is so crucial to the Pelicans success in this still young season.

Let’s hope for the best.

Ryan Anderson took AD’s place in the starting lineup in the second half.
