Tracking the T’Wolves: Firmly in our Sights

Chris Trew takes a peek at the newest team we love to hate- the Tumblewolves

Welcome to the inaugural and certainly short lived slam fest of Timberwolves basketball. I’m your host and creator of @Tumblewolves Chris Trew. In addition to running the most fun twitter feed in the NBA I’ll be dropping by the Hornets247 offices every Thursday to spy on Jason Calmes eating lunch and pen a little something something about the team we’re all pretending to hate for the next four months.

I’m in this for more than a draft pick, though. I’m in this because New Orleans nearly scored the Minnesota franchise back in the day my parents promised me tickets. I kept that “We Got ‘Em” front page of the Times-Picayune on my wall until it got so yellow it was just skin and bones. We never Got ‘Em and I’m still bitter. Also, that Rubio fella is all trying to be Pistol Pete and I don’t take too kindly to that.

Here’s some notes on the Wolves upcoming schedule.

vs. Hornets

We control our own fate so here’s how you can help. Wear camouflage to the Hive. Dump elixir on Ricky Rubio. If you’re sitting behind the basket consider not waving those inflatables back and forth as no movement might distract them more than lots of it. The power is in your hands!

vs. Hawks

Everyone knows that the feud between Hawks and Wolves is one of the most brutal in the history of the forest. If the Hawks remain on a high enough perch and can catch the Wolves while they are napping then they stand a great chance at picking them up by their neck and dropping them in the nearest lake. I didn’t make any of this up, this is what actual Hawks and Wolves do.

vs. Kings

I think there are still a handful of people on the Hornets Report forums that talk about Marcus Thornton every now and then so find them and throw a party. You can play the LSU fight song every time he score a (lil’) bucket.

My fellow Tumblers, do not forget that in addition to rooting against the Wolves, we must cover all bases by also rooting in favor of the Bobcats, Wizards, Cavs, Nets and Raptors. They are looking to be the bottom of the barrel and the more wins they have, the worse their draft position becomes. As far as I’m concerned, the biggest games of the year will be when the Tumblewolves face off against one of these bottom feeders, as a Washington win improves their record and a Minnesota loss worsens theirs. I’m resisting the temptation to create more twitter feeds.

Tracking the T’Wolves will be a regular piece running every Thursday only on Hornets247.com. Follow @tumblewolves for all the latest news on the franchise that we wish nothing but bad things on. #vodoocurse
