By: Joe Gerrity
Published: January 4, 2012
Monty Williams talks about making shots and Eric Gordon sheds some light on his knee injury, plus a brief look at new Hornets guard, Xavier Henry.
Notes From Shootaround
- Trevor Ariza is out. Aminu make his first Hornets start as a result.
- Eric Gordon has been upgraded from day-to-day to questionable. He appears to feel better, and was shooting around during shootaround. Monty and he both said it’s a game time decision.
- Monty is worried about the team not making open shots, and also committing so many turnoverss
Notes from the acquisition of Xavier Henry from the Grizzlies
- Marc Stein is reporting that the Hornets are giving up a second round pick in the 2013 draft for the Grizzlies 12th pick from the 2010 draft.
- Henry stands at 6’6 and plays shooting guard.
- He can’t shoot.
- He doesn’t have a very good handle
- The bright side is that he’s only 20. Plus he’s athletic and with his sizehas the potential to be a very good defender and rebounder
- He can play with Vasquez to make up a back court composed of entirely ex-Grizzlies from the 2010 draft. Not many teams can say that.
