New Orleans is finally going to get some of that sweet exhibition action that we’ve been hearing about. Chris Paul is set to host a game on December 7th at a New Orleans location. It’s going to be part of a four game “Homecoming Tour” hosted by Paul, LeBron, Dwayne Wade, and Carmelo Anthony. Proceeds will go toward charitable organizations.
While I don’t care much for the overly offensive oriented style that exhibitions typically bring out of otherwise competitive players, the potential to watch Paul and his three amigos show me their stuff live is a pretty solid medicine for the NBA withdrawal I go through daily. Additional players expected to participate are Udonis Haslem and Chris Bosh.
Paul will also host an education themed event and a basketball clinic in New Orleans on December 2nd.
“Being able to play the game I love alongside my friends … as well as raising money for charity is a win-win situation,” Paul said.
I’ve contracted CAA for more information and I’ll be sure to pass along whatever it is that I hear back. Also, we will of course be attending and covering the game.
