Patrick Ewing Junior, son of legendary Knicks Center Patrick Ewing, scored his first NBA points Sunday. They came from the free throw line with 2:09 to go in the fourth quarter, at the tail end of a New Orleans Hornets loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. He went on to score three points on 0-3 shooting (0-1 from three, 3-4 from the free throw line), along with one assist, one rebound, one block, and one foul.

It was an eventful six minutes for the young Ewing, and a night he will never forget. He out-scored Chris Paul in the contest, defying all odds. Anyone who bet on that happening in Vegas now can afford to buy the Hornets and keep them in New Orleans.

He has a long way to go to catch his dad (24,815 points), but that’s ok. Nobody ever lives up to their parents’ expectations anyway.

Congratulations, Patrick, from everyone at Hornets247, and across Hornets nation.
