If I Was Dell…

This post is about Dell, and it’s typed on a Dell. (Awesome, huh?)  Now that I’ve gotten that hilarious pun out of the way, (I’ve been waiting for my chance to use it) on to the boring stuff.  The question of the hour: What should the front office do this offseason?  Read on —>

  • First Priority: Re-sign David West.  David is core to this team’s success.  His play style meshes perfectly with CP3, and he’s also a good buddy of our star point guard.  But what really sets him apart is the intangibles.  I don’t think anyone in this league is as intense as D-West.  Really, I don’t.  He’s always bringing it, and that’s why he’s one of the most consistent players in this league.  Seeing him go down was sickening, because he’s carried this team for most of the season.  I’d put a 3 year/ 10.5 million a year contract on the table if I was Dell.
  • Second Priority: Keep some of the bench intact.  Now, I’d be too happy to see Jason Smith, David Anderson, DJ Mbenga and maybe Willie Green go this offseason, but we need to keep Marco and Landry.  Carl is very valuable off of the bench,  and he might be able to get a shot at a starting job elsewhere.  Marco is a three point sniper–albeit when he’s on, but I still think he could be like a Laker Ariza/Hedo Turkoglu/Robert Horry in the postseason for us.
  • Third Priority: Make good signings:  I really want us to pick up DeAndre Jordan this offseason.  He could be like Tyson Chandler was with CP3.  He’s 7 feet, long, has great hops, and is a good shot blocker.  He’s a restricted free agent though, but he’ll probably want to escape Donald Sterling.  I’d also like Ronny Turiaf, Jason Richardson, Thaddeus Young, and Shannon Brown in creole blue.  Turiaf would be a good backup center, J-Rich a good starting shooting guard, Young a power forward with upside, and Brown a high-flying sshooting guard.  Shannon’s dunk on us last night was crazy!

I hope you all enjoyed my journal, I enjoyed writing it.  Geaux Hornets!
